New Delhi, June 1 (ANI): Halle Berry is in negotiations to star in the thriller 'The Surrogate,' based on the 2004 novel by Kathryn Mackel.
The 20th Century Fox project is to be directed by Paul Verhoeven, reports the China Daily.
The story revolves around a couple desperate to have a child who discover that the surrogate they've hired to carry their baby is insane.
The actress is keen to play the role of the wife, and Fox wants her to do it, but official deal-making has not yet started.
Berry has won an Academy Award for her lead performance in 'Monster's Ball." (ANI)
