Lucknow, May 30 (IANS) A married woman and her paramour were beaten to death by in-laws of the woman in an Uttar Pradesh village after being caught together, the police said Saturday.
The incident took place Friday night in Madhi village of Bijnor district, 350 km from Lucknow. The in-laws of Meena, 25, were incensed over her long affair with Ajay Chauhan, 35, the police said.
'Meena's in-laws caught her in a compromising position with Chauhan late Friday night. Both of them were repeatedly beaten with sticks after which they died,' district police chief R. Kumar told IANS on phone.
A case has been registered against Meena's father-in-law and two other family members. 'All three are absconding. We are conducting raids to nab them,' Kumar said.
