English, Welsh, Scottish flags banned at Olympics

London, Aug 6 (ANI): With just two days for the Olympics to begin, Chinese authorities have banned the use of English, Welsh and Scottish flags during the games.

In the latest ruling, flags of nations that are not competing will be confiscated, reports The Sun.

This means that the only flag that will be hoisted is the Union Jack.

The move came with respect to the efforts being to stop protesters waving the flag of Tibet.

Cyclist Geraint Thomas said he would be "disappointed" not to show off a Welsh flag if he won a medal.

Meanwhile, the Olympic flame reached its final destination greeted by an elated crowd in the Chinese capital. (ANI)
