"Delhi - Past and Present" is a photo-exhibition highlighting changes that have occurred in the vicinity of Delhi monuments over the last few decades. It has been put-up by the Delhi circle of the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI).
Problems relating to conservation, restoration and changing ambience of these monuments, particularly the pressure created by growing urbanization, will be displayed in these photographs.
The Children's Museum building was taken over by the ASI from the Delhi Development Authority sometime back for establishment of a Children's Museum and Heritage Centre.
The two exhibitions are being held before the Children's Museum is established with the assistance of a reputed museum designer.
The museum will be developed on the theme of 'Story of Delhi' covering various layers of history and will focus on built heritage as well as antiquities.
Objectives and artefacts from the antiquities collection of the ASI as well as other governmental or non-governmental collections shall be displayed in the museum and multimedia technologies will be used for developing a narrative of the 'Story of Delhi'. (ANI)
