Miniature Beijing Olympic village created using Lego blocks!
London, Aug 5 (ANI): Chinese model fans are celebrating the Olympic Games in their own unique way - they have created a detailed Lego replica of the Beijing Olympic site.
This "mini sports city" has all of the important venues at this year's Games, including the National Stadium - nicknamed the Bird's Nest - and the Water Cube aquatics centre.
The model was created by using more than 300,000 Lego bricks and 4,500 Lego people, reports the Telegraph.
The Olympic Lego exhibition, created by the Hong Kong Lego User Group, is on display at Grand Century Place in Hong Kong until Aug 31.
Measuring 8m x 3m, the replica showcases in detail various sports that will be played in this year's Games, including tennis, table tennis, beach volleyball, football, sailing and windsurfing,
In fact, the model makers have also created an equestrian arena and accompanying stables in which Lego horses are kept and cared for by their Lego trainers.
The model does not limit itself to recreating the sporting venues alone, the makers have also reproduced the tower blocks of the athletes' village, which will be home to 16,000 competitors over the course of the Games.
The opening ceremony for the real Games will take place on Aug 8. (ANI)
