I won't forget my poll promises, Maneka tells Aonla

Aonla (Uttar Pradesh), May 23 (IANS) On her first visit here after winning from the Aonla parliamentary constituency, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MP Maneka Gandhi Saturday vowed to fulfil her poll promises.

'I am not like those politicians who forget their promises after winning elections,' Maneka Gandhi told a gathering in Aonla in Bareilly district, about 250 km from Uttar Pradesh capital Lucknow.

'I assure you all I will fulfil all my promises,' she said. 'I will focus on the all-round development of Aonla and initiate projects for raising the living standards of the poor and downtrodden.'

Before shifting to the Aonla seat, Maneka Gandhi had been elected from the Pilibhit parliamentary constituency five times, but vacated it for her son Varun Gandhi who too has won the elections.
