More detail about Uzbekistan
Uzbekistan is a Country with Trafficking Problems
Uzbekistan is a country that surrounds a number of former Soviet states. These include Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan and Kyrgyzstan. Uzbekistan is noted for being a country that has participated in many human trafficking conditions with other countries.
There have been numerous instances where women are sent out to surrounding countries for various sexual purposes. This is the most common case of trafficking that is present in Uzbekistan. There are also cases where young girls are being trafficked around to different countries to be used as servants for the wealthy.
There are also cases where men are being trafficked to different countries through Uzbekistan. They are often sent out into forced slavery in many fields. These include construction duties in some rural parts of China and other countries that are not too far from here.
There are some cases that the people who are trafficking can be shipped out with illegal drugs as well. The country is noted for being a major shipping point for some of the materials used to create heroin. This is a problem that might be accentuated by people shipping humans around into other countries around the area.
Uzbekistan has been working to try and get child labor procedures to be reduced as much as possible as a means of trying to keep trafficking down. The country has changed rules on child labor by establishing a legal minimum age for employment in varying fields.
However, this has not kept trafficking from being a concern in Uzbekistan. In fact, the country has failed to provide information to the United Nations on its efforts to try and stop trafficking around the country. It has not signed off on the UN TIP Protocol for trafficking either. This has caused the country to be put on notice with regards to its trafficking standards.
