There are additional disputes on the border with Thailand and Laos. Much of this has to deal with the Mekong River. There are a number of islands in the river that are between Thailand and Laos. There have been border disputes over who occupies these lands.

Some camps are also found around the border with Burma. These camps are refugee camps. These feature people who are looking to attempt to enter Thailand as a means of escaping the country.

Also, health considerations have made border controls tight in Thailand. There are concerns about the potential of avian flu spreading into Thailand through other countries. Therefore, all people who try to enter Thailand through any border are going to be subjected to full medical tests to ensure that they do not try to spread illnesses into the country.
