Morocco Set to Increase Job Opportunities

There are a few things that characterize the economy in Morocco. One of those is the stability of the inflation rates and another is the high rates of growth that the country has experienced. Unfortunately with those two good points, there is also a negative one ? a low rate of employment in the urban areas. There is about a thirty percent rate of unemployment among young males in the cities but often this isn't seen because of the lower overall rate of unemployment.

Although the economy is doing relatively well, the government is looking to make changes to the employment rate. They are finding ways to create programs to stimulate more growth and the creation of jobs. They are pursuing such plans to increase the competiveness and the productivity of the economy. This will be through strategies used to target various sectors such as the fisheries, energy, tourism, commerce and agriculture. There have already been reforms in the finance sector that look promising.

The government has put a lot of time, effort and funds into developing infrastructure. They have been developing the Tanger-Med Port which is located at the Strait of Gibraltar. There are plans to complete the port by 2014 but there are many people that think this process needs to be faster and other changes to the economy also need to be sped up.

Although the climate does hamper the creation of certain opportunities and the international development aspect of the economy doesn?t seem very likely at this point, there are various elements that can change for the better. The revenues have been increased by a very good harvest in 2009 and the GDP is expected to continue this increase. With the extra jobs in the making and the diversity of the sectors involved, the country should notice the difference within the coming years.
