RESEARCH AND ANALYSIS WING

If terrorism and external security are to be taken in to account then comes naturally the Research and Analysis Wing of The Indian government its external intelligence agency which investigates major matters related to external affairs and terrorism. RAW came in to existence in 1968 to cater to the security needs of the people and was headquartered in New Delhi. It was founded by Shri R. N. Kao. The chief objectives of RAW are to handle and monitor as well as manage national security of India and military development as well as arms control in the neighbouring countries whose foreign policy has a direct bearing on the external policy of India.

It has been successful in operating the domestic and foreign policies of India. And to bring the support of international public opinion by the utilization of Indian Diaspora. RAW is headed by the secretary along with many intelligentsia's who work out the researches. It mainly carries out researches in the matters of smuggling, terrorism and other matters related to India in terms of International standard. The major operations that Research and Analysis Wing has taken up till now are creation of Bangladesh, Mujbir Rahmans Assassination, Amalgamation of Sikkim Kargil war, Disturbances in Pakistan etc. It has also been for some time decried for its negligence in work. The general secretary of RAW is Ashok Chaturbedi who is carrying out investigation in to the Samjhuta Express bombing by the terrorists in Haryana.
