Sachin Tendulkar's Mumbai Indians

The costliest IPL team at $111.9 million, owned by Reliance Industries, Mumbai Indians are raring to go at the second IPL. Although Mumbai Indians failed to live up to their pre-IPL hype in the first DLF-IPL 2008 tournament, to be fair, they were constantly plagued by injuries and non-availability of key players.

So in the second IPL, Mumbai Indians have regrouped and lined up dazzling array of cricket stars including the great Sachin Tendulkar, dashing Sanath Jayasuriya, Dwayne Bravo and superb bowlers like Harbhajan Singh, Zaheer Khan, Lasith Malinga and Dilhara Fernando. Mumbai Indians have roped in former South-African bowling great Shaun Pollock as coach with fellow countryman Jonty Rhodes as the bowling coach.

And has the magic worked? You bet, Mumbai Indians won their opening IPL match against the formidable Chennai Super Kings quite comfortably. The presence of South African staff has proved to be a blessing in the local conditions and Sachin Tendulkar has capitalized on this. So watch out everybody, here come the Mumbai Indians, the real Indians.
